Phases

We cultivate the fields organically, without the use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

The olive groves are located on the Presilane Joniche Hills, within the PGI Olio di Calabria and PDO Bruzio area with an organic production.

The pepper fields are strictly outdoors, where we cultivate two native biodiversity: " naso di cane or roggianese " and "cornetto piccante ".

For two generations we have been raising and enhancing the native rough Black Pig of Calabria and the white PDO pig, outdoors under animal welfare regimes and without the use of antibiotics from birth.

The photovoltaic and biogas plants produce renewable energy, electricity and heat, which feeds the supply chain in full respect of the environment.

CONTROLLED FROM THE ORIGIN

Traceability is the keyword of the entire Supply chain system, to guarantee the origin, quality and food safety.

All our products, from the pig’s feed to the spices that flavour Cured meats are from the Supply chain, made by raw materials controlled from the origin.

Production is strictly controlled on every single step, respecting healthiness and tradition.

We promote Environmental Sustainability using renewable energies that make our production chain self-sufficient.

With our bio-digestion plant “BIOGAS” we produce 250 kWh of electrical and thermal energy, using all the residues of agricultural production which, through a perfect circular economy system, go back to the earth in the form of organic fertilizer and purified water.

OF GREEN ENERGY

The installed PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEMS transform 750 kWh of solar energy into electricity. Being Green is the philosophy we have adopted and have been successfully pursuing for years.

BRCGS BRAND REPUTATION THROUGH COMPLIANCE Module 11 MEAT SUPPLY CHAIN ASSURANCE GRADE A+

It includes a thorough audit of the traceability of the meat Supply chain and processes in order to prevent cross-species contamination of meat.
This add-on module has been developed with UK companies from industry, retailers and food service providers to provide guarantee throughout the Supply chain.

ANIMAL WELFARE animal health KIWA

The scheme enables international pork producers to achieve an approved production level within EU legislative requirements by demonstrating that animal health, welfare and sustainability standards are met.
This certification demonstrates that the sites are not only compliant with all EU legislation but also addresses to other areas currently covered by UK standards.

It is awarded in case of compliance with the criteria relating to both sows and meat pigs, raised outdoors under an animal welfare regime with requirements that exceed what is required by European legislation.

Awarded by Compassion in World Farming, a non-profit organization involved at an international level, the two prizes were awarded for the high standards of Black Pig farming, ensuring that quality raw materials are placed on the market.

Italialleva is the guarantee system of the Italian Breeders Association for livestock productions; the use of the Italialleva brand is granted for zootechnical productions that meet certain requirements established by the AIA and sanctioned in specific documents.

CERTIFICATION OF ORGANIC AGRICULTURE EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL MADEO

The extra virgin olive oil from our Supply chain is certified organic, synonymous with safety and guarantee for consumers. In order to obtain it, production must comply with EC Regulation 834/2007. It complies with a high quality standard, within a sustainable agricultural system that respects animals and land, through the use of natural resources.

PDO (DENOMINATION OF PROTECTED ORIGIN)

The four Calabrian cured meats with PDO are: Sausage, Soppressata, Capocollo and Pancetta.

The PDO brand is attributed to products that are distinguished by a series of characteristics that depend exclusively on the territory that expresses them.
